ABSTRACT
The aim of this paper is to investigate if and how Education for Sustainable Development can make use of elements of Intercultural Education in order to achieve the optimal results. Social inequality, poverty, uneven distribution of natural resources, degradation of both natural and residential environment, are some of the problems that modern societies are called to face according to modern multicultural social contexts. Education for Sustainable Development can provide answers and prospects to various modern challenges. The question that arises even more urgently today is how to educate people from a language, social and culturally diverse background. The main conclusion is that social reality creates new data for Education for Sustainable Development and that Intercultural Education is possible to be creatively integrated into it, as both of these scientific disciplines share the same principles, aims and methods.
